The door size in Edit side is different from the door size in Preview side. So your pattern tries to adapt itself to a different surface size based on the relative points and offset values you set.
Some pratice is required to understand how relative points and offset values work.
I suggest you to start with an empty surface and add a simple rectangle on it. Then modify the size of the surface on the Edit side (button in 1st column, 4th row) and observe how the rectangle adapts itself. Use the ??? button on the rectangle to try other offset values and other relative points. Once you will understand those it will be easy to create any complexe patterns.
If you create a simple pattern for a fixed size surface, you only need to care about the surface size on the Edit side before you begin to draw your pattern.
